The foster care system of Texas recruits solid families who are interested in sharing their blessings with a child or sibling group in need of a safe and nurturing environment.
One does not need to be a candidate for Sainthood to apply and begin the process.
One does not need to be married to be a Foster Parent.
Candidates will have to be willing to expose their private lives to strangers, submit to a criminal background check for all adults living in the home, and demonstrate financial independence.
Foster Families in Texas may choose between two systems in which to volunteer.
1) The public system, commonly referred to as CPS (Child Protective Services)
2) and the private CPAs (Child-Placing Agencies).
TFFA supports recruitment into both systems equally. Contact the referral number listed below for the statewide Foster Care and Adoption Inquiry line. You will be prompted to answer basic questions regarding your location so that information can be mailed to you.
You can also contact the TFFA Regional Representative for your area via email, those links can be found on the Board Directory page of this website.
May you be blessed by your desire to reach out to a deserving child.
