WHY SHOULD I JOIN TFFA?
1. Access to previously established lines of communication for the purpose of impacting the decision making processes relative to the Foster Care system of Texas.
2. Receive current Foster Care information through the organization’s publication, F.O.C.U.S. a progress report of Fostering in Texas.
3. Have ready access to legislative updates and the opportunity to participate in influencing the legislative process through an organized statewide methodology.
4. Receive training at the annual state conferences and regional mini-conferences.
5. Foster, Adopted and Birth children of members are eligible for assistance from the Scholarship Fund.
6. Memorial marker assistance for foster, birth and adopted children from the Burial Fund.
7. Have a vote in the selection of TFFA officers.
8. Increase your support base and broaden your perspective of Foster Care.
9. Gain the self confidence, pride, and assurance that will be garnered from belonging to the oldest and largest organization in the state of Texas advocating for the continued improvement of the Foster Care system.
WHO CAN JOIN TFFA?
Anyone with an interest in the Foster Care system of Texas is invited to become a member of TFFA. Foster Parents, both with public and private certifications, are encouraged to join individually or as a couple. It is acceptable for an entire Foster Parent association to join as a group. Every member of the group will receive the newsletter and all members will have a vote in the election of officers. Agency staff, both public and private, are vigorously encouraged to join TFFA. Any person interested in the future of Foster Care in Texas, whether they are connected to the Foster Care system or not, is encouraged to become a member of TFFA.
