When: 6/4/2026 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Where: Virtual Meeting - Join Meeting

Texas summers present a serious risk for children in vehicles, where temperatures can reach dangerous levels in minutes. This presentation breaks down the science of how vehicular heatstroke happens--even to loving and responsible caregivers--and provides practical, habit-based tips to prevent a child from being left, forgotten, or trapped in a hot car.

Join us for this informative session to discuss:

  • The "Why": How the greenhouse effect works and why the brain's "autopilot" can sometimes fail us.
  • The "How": Simple, daily habits to create a safe routine.
  • The Action: What to do if you see a child alone in a car and how to spread awareness in your community

The Texas Heatstroke Task Force has a mission to prevent child injuries and deaths from vehicular heatstroke through education and awareness across Texas. Come be a part of that important mission to save lives.
