From Roots to Resilience: Navigating Generational Trauma in Child Welfare
Presented by Kathryn Dumond, M. Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S
This training explores how the effects of trauma can be passed down through generations, impacting the children and families involved with the child welfare system. We'll explore how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and systemic inequalities can create a cycle of trauma that impacts a child's biological parents, leading to complex challenges in parenting and contributing to the cycles that can lead to foster care. The training will provide insights into identifying these patterns and developing strategies to support both children and their families with a trauma-informed approach.
Audience: Caregivers, child welfare professionals, and advocates
