Have you ever wanted to know about the Child Protective Investigation (CPI) process? The purpose of this presentation is to give the audience an overview of the Child Protective Investigations program. Join us to gain a better understanding of the legal definitions of abuse and neglect, reporting requirements and investigation process for CPI.

Bio: Courtney Butler has nearly 10 years of service to the State of Texas, including six years with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). During her career with DFPS, she has served as a Critical Response Investigator, and Youth Specialist. Since January 2024, she has served as the Faith-Based Community Engagement Specialist for Region 1. Courtney earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from West Texas A&M University. Drawing on her professional expertise and years of public service, she continues to advocate for children and families by bridging the gap between DFPS and the community. Beyond her professional work, is a dedicated wife and mother, and her story of perseverance, faith, and purpose inspires others to believe in the power of community and hope.
Greenfield, Julieann (DFPS)

Bio: JulieAnn has an extensive background in the child welfare system expanding over the last twelve years. JulieAnn has a passion for working with children and families and encouraging social workers to be the type of social worker that they would want to have. JulieAnn's work experiences range from case management at a child placing agency to an administrator at an emergency shelter. While working for Child Protective Services, JulieAnn has been an investigator, conservatorship worker, investigation supervisor, and is currently the Faith Based and Community Engagement Specialist. JulieAnn graduated from Howard Payne University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. While at Howard Payne, JulieAnn was able to intern at Child Protective Services. In 2016, she received her master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. JulieAnn currently holds two licenses from the state of Texas. She is a licensed Master Social Worker and a Licensed Child Care Administrator. While JulieAnn is not working she can be found cheering on her husband's high school football and basketball teams and enjoying quality time with her kids.
