This training is an overview of motivational interviewing to assist foster parents in talking with their
adolescents. It will discuss the concepts of change, ambivalence, motivation, and OARS skills. 

This training is provided by STAR Health.

Training Objectives:
Discuss why change may be difficult for everyone, not just teens
Explain how ambivalence is natural and affects our ability to change
Analyze how motivation must come from within
List the four skills used with OARS
Apply motivational interviewing (MI) skills to improve conversations with teens

Training hours one and half hours (1.5)
CE Information- No continuing education available

This is a live event. Attendees will need to log into the GoToTraining room & will also need to connect to audio either via their device or call into the conference number. Each attendee must be in the GTT Room individually, be able to access the audio, complete the requirements of the training, and attend the entire training to receive credit for being in attendance.
