Understanding and Supporting Children with Depressive Disorders in Foster Care

The session will provide an in-depth understanding of depressive disorders in children in foster care. We will explore the unique challenges and risk factors that contribute to depression in this population, including trauma, loss, and instability. Participants will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of depression in children, which may present differently than in adults. We will also discuss the importance of collaboration with mental health professionals and navigating the treatment landscape.
